Description
Trip Around The World Quilt
Sunday 25th June – full day 10.30am – 4pm
Tutor: Catriona Brown
This is a fantastic technique to make quick patchwork quilts or cushions using the traditional ‘trip around the world’ pattern. We’ll start by discussing colour/pattern placement to achieve beautiful effects. We’ll then teach you the cutting and piecing needed for each individual block. You could make a large cushion and get the whole project completed during the day or plan to complete enough blocks for various sizes of quilt at home.
We’ll provide fabric guidance/requirements for a variety of different quilt sizes. Bring your sewing machine, fabric (exact amounts will be sent with your order confirmation) and basic sewing kit. Sewing machines are available on request.
This is a great class for those of you who have attended one of our beginner patchwork classes and now want to try out a new pattern, but it’s also a fun technique to learn for more experienced quilters. Sewing machine experience is necessary as well as basic familiarity with using a rotary cutter and sewing with a consistent seam allowance.
