Snowflake Dresden – Sunday 22nd October – full day

Over the course of the day we will make an 18″ block featuring a beautiful snowflake inspired Dresden, suitable for a mini quilt, a cushion or anything else you can think of. This is an interesting variation on a traditional Dresden block utilising different sizes of wedge to create a snowflake shape. We will have custom made rulers of the correct angle for you to purchase if desired, you’ll get a discount on the ruler if you’re also doing the class. Hopefully we’ll get the complete Dresden made on the day so we can machine appliqué the finished snowflake onto a backing fabric and add a hexagon centre. This is a lovely wintry pattern that is suitable for Christmas without being twee, add to your holiday decor or give it as a gift. This requires accurate cutting and sewing so the Dresden will lie flat but is a suitable project for someone who has, for example, completed our beginners patchwork and quilting class.
