Scrappy Trip Around The World Sundays 23rd and 30th May 10.30am-1.00pm
Tutor: Catriona Brown
This is a fantastic technique to make quick patchwork quilts or cushions using the traditional ‘trip around the world’ pattern. We’ll start by discussing colour/pattern placement to achieve beautiful effects. We’ll then teach you the cutting and piecing needed for each individual block. You could make a large cushion and get the whole project completed during the day or plan to complete enough blocks for various sizes of quilt at home. We’ll provide fabric guidance/requirements for a variety of different quilt sizes.
This is a great class for those of you who have attended one of our beginner patchwork classes and now want to try out a new pattern, but it’s also a fun technique to learn for more experienced quilters. Sewing machine experience is necessary as well as basic familiarity with using a rotary cutter and sewing with a consistent seam allowance. Bring your sewing machine, fabric (exact amounts will be sent with your order confirmation) and basic sewing kit. Sewing machines are available on request.
