Description
Postage Stamp Zippy Pouch
Tuesday 13th and 20th June – Evenings 7-9pm
Tutor – Catriona Brown
This class will show you two different and versatile techniques. We’ll learn how to make accurate and neat ‘postage stamp’ blocks with 1” finished squares on the first evening. You’ll quilt the two side panels of your pouch at home to create nice robust sides, alternatively you could interface them instead. On the second evening we’ll make a great ‘open wide’ pouch with a different method of zip insertion that avoids a lot of the hassles. Both these techniques work great separately, you can go away and make postage stamp cushions or quilts and you can make lots of different sizes of pouches with this style of zip insertion.
Sewing machine experience is necessary, as is experience using a rotary cutter to cut exactly sized pieces. You will need to turn up to the first class with 100 squares accurately cut to 1.5”. Bring your sewing machine and fabric (exact amounts will be sent with your order confirmation) and basic sewing kit. Sewing machines are available on request.
