Porthole Quilt – Sunday 29th October – Afternoon

In this half day class you’ll learn the Porthole Technique, a kind of reverse appliqué to create neat Petal Shapes and Circles. We’ll be working towards the Porthole Petal Quilt designed by Jo Avery. You should get several blocks made in the class and will receive full instructions on how to complete the quilt top. Catriona will also demonstrate how to use multiple portholes on top of each other. This is a very simple yet clever technique for revealing layers of fabric, and can create beautiful, intricate quilts using any curved shapes.

You will need your sewing machine and fabric (exact details will be sent with your order acknowledgement). This class is for those with competent sewing skills, especially those who have been on previous patchwork courses or have experience with machine sewing.
