In this class, which runs over 6 Tuesday evenings, you will create a beautiful patchwork quilt top. This pattern uses one jelly roll plus one metre of coordinating fabric and creates a 64″ square quilt. This makes for a generous couch quilt or the addition of an extra plain border around the edge would extend it into a fabulous double bed quilt! During the class we will use a variety of different jelly roll and strip piecing techniques to create blocks which we assemble into various borders to create a medallion style quilt. This quilt does require accurate cutting and the ability to sew with an accurate quarter inch seam so it isn’t suitable for complete beginners, however the quilt is a lot easier than it looks. It would definitely be a good option to expand your skills if you’ve completed our Beginners Patchwork and Quilting Class. There will also be some homework required between classes as we are aiming to complete the entire quilt top. Come along and learn how to combine simple blocks and techniques to create a stunning, visually complex quilt!
