Description
Cathedral Windows Quilt or Cushion
Saturday 20th May and 17th June – Mornings 10:30am – 1pm
Tutor Catriona Brown
Learn the fascinating technique of Cathedral Windows in this workshop taking place over two mornings. This is a very different way to make a patchwork quilt, it’s all in one with no basting or quilting required. You can start with 18” squares to make a quilt or a smaller version using 10.5” squares to make a cushion. We’ll get started on sewing your background squares and piecing them together on the first morning and you can finish this at home to complete your background. On the second morning we’ll insert the ‘window’ fabrics then fold and stitch down the curves. The results are really stunning and you can even hand sew down the curves on the smaller version if you wish.
You will need fabric (exact amounts will be sent with your order confirmation) and your sewing machine. This is a suitable post beginner class, you should be able to cut blocks to size accurately and use a sewing machine.
