Bias Tape Leaves and Flowers Quilt
Sunday 26th September – full day 10.30am – 4pm
Tutor: Catriona Brown
This full day class will teach you how to make your own bias binding and manipulate it into place to create a bias tape appliqué design. We’ll be concentrating on the day on making a flower block. You will also receive full instructions for the coordinating leaf block which you can complete at home. You can appliqué on top of the pieced 18″ block of your choice or onto a plain background fabric. A single block can be used to make a beautiful cushion or you can make more blocks at home to join together into a quilt. Once you’ve learnt this technique you can create all sorts of patterns of your own design, the possibilities are endless!
You will need your sewing machine and fabric (exact details will be sent with your order acknowledgement). This class is suitable for those with basic quilting and sewing skills but ability to cut accurate strips with a rotary cutter is essential. There is a lot of ironing involved, as well as lot of careful drawing out of the design, just to warn you in advance!
