Learning to knit is a lot of fun, and it’s not as difficult as you might think. This beginners course will give you the basics and has everything you need to get started, whether you’ve never picked up needles before or just need a refresher in the company of and with the support of like-minded people.
In our first class we will learn about;
In our first class we will begin by making a simple headband; learning how to cast on stitches and cast off, and knit!
In our second class we will make a cosy cowl using stocking stitch, now we are learning the purl stitch. We will recap on cast on and off again and how to change colour.
In our final class we will be making bunting in two ways; we will learn how to increase and decrease stitches, and how to knit rib.
By the end of your sessions you will have the foundations to begin your knitting journey, you will be able to;
Throughout the classes, there will be homework. Practice and dedication are essential to learning any new skill and will build confidence for returning to your next class.
A set of needles will be included to get you started and you will get advice on yarn requirements, we’ll be starting out with bulky yarn! Suitable for complete beginners.
